5. International transfers
Some service providers may process information in the United States or other countries outside the United Kingdom. Where UK data-protection law treats this as a restricted international transfer, we rely on the safeguard applicable to that provider and transfer, such as UK adequacy regulations, the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, or the UK Addendum to approved standard contractual clauses.
You may contact us for further information about the safeguard relevant to a particular provider. Provider arrangements can change, so we review this section when our services or their contractual terms change.
6. How long we keep information

We may retain specific information for longer where necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims, respond to a regulator, resolve a complaint or comply with law.
7. Your data-protection rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have the right to:
- request access to the personal information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
- ask us to erase information where there is no lawful reason to keep it;
- ask us to restrict how information is used;
- receive certain information in a portable, machine-readable format;
- withdraw consent at any time where we rely on consent; and
- complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
Your right to object: you may object to processing based on our legitimate interests. You also have an absolute right to object at any time to the use of your personal information for direct marketing.
To exercise a right, emailcontact@rudielectrics.com. We normally respond within one month. We may need to confirm your identity and may extend the response period where the law permits for a complex request.
8. Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small files stored by a browser. Similar technologies, including browser local storage, can also store or access information on a device. We use necessary storage to remember your privacy choice. We also produce anonymous aggregate website statistics without cookies or persistent visitor identifiers, with a simple objection control below. Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity load only after you allow optional analytics. The homepage Google Reviews widget loads as part of the page whether you accept or reject optional cookies.
| Technology | Provider and purpose | Typical duration |
|---|---|---|
re-consent (local storage) | Rudi Electrics — remembers your versioned choices for optional analytics and, where offered, advertising measurement | Up to 12 months, unless you change the choice or clear the website’s browser storage |
rudi-electrics-anonymous-measurement-v1 (local storage, only when switched off) | Rudi Electrics — remembers an objection to anonymous aggregate website measurement; it is used only to stop that measurement | Until you switch it on again or clear the website’s browser storage |
re_owner_analytics_excluded (cookie) | Rudi Electrics — lets the business owner exclude the selected device from anonymous totals, public-website analytics and advertising measurement | Up to 12 months, unless the exclusion is switched off or browser cookies are cleared |
rudi-electrics-first-touch-v2 (session storage) | Rudi Electrics — after relevant consent, temporarily remembers the first page and campaign information for an enquiry journey | 30 minutes after the last tracked page load, consent change or enquiry submission, or until the browser tab is closed |
_clck | Microsoft Clarity — retains a pseudonymous Clarity user identifier and preferences for this website | Up to 1 year under Microsoft’s current settings |
_clsk | Microsoft Clarity — connects page views into a session | Approximately 1 day under Microsoft’s current settings |
Other Microsoft cookies, which may include CLID, MUID, ANONCHK or MR | Microsoft Clarity — analytics operation, browser recognition and consent-related functions | Varies by cookie and Microsoft’s current settings |
elfsight_viewed_recently | Elfsight — helps prevent the same review-widget view being counted repeatedly | Approximately 15 seconds |
Anonymous website measurement
We count page views, broad entry sources, device classes and totals of selected actions such as Call, WhatsApp, quotation and form-start interactions. Each event is added immediately to an hourly aggregate. We do not assign a visitor or session identifier, retain an IP address in the measurement table, use query strings, reconstruct journeys, create profiles or send this layer to Google Analytics or Microsoft Clarity. We use these statistics only to improve this website. You can object at any time in Cookie settings.
Microsoft Clarity
After you allow analytics, Microsoft Clarity may set analytics cookies and collect information about page views, clicks, scrolling, navigation, browser and device details, approximate location and reconstructed session playback. Session playback is a visual reconstruction of website interaction rather than a video recorded through your camera. We use it to identify usability problems and improve the website.
Elfsight review widget
Pages containing our review section request public Google review content from Elfsight whether you accept or reject optional cookies. Elfsight receives technical request information and the page URL, and states that its short-livedelfsight_viewed_recently cookie prevents repeat view counting within a brief period. This does not enable Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity or advertising measurement when you reject optional cookies.
Managing your choice
You can accept optional cookies, reject them or choose by purpose when the notice appears. Anonymous website measurement has its own switch and can be turned off free of charge. You can also use browser controls to delete or block cookies and local storage, although doing so may remove your saved preference. Use the button below at any time to reopen Cookie settings and change or withdraw your choice.
9. Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal information, including encrypted HTTPS connections, access controls, secure service credentials, restricted access, software updates and appropriate disposal or deletion. No internet or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.
Where a personal-data breach creates a legal duty to notify affected people or the ICO, we will do so in accordance with applicable law.
10. Questions and complaints
Please contact us first so we can try to resolve a privacy concern. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK data-protection regulator.
