Many ordinary homes need more than the provider router but fewer access points than a room-by-room design. The correct count comes from property construction, floor shape, device demand and usable wired positions. More access points can create interference if channels and power are not planned.

Do I need one WiFi access point per floor?

Not automatically. Some floors can share coverage, while dense construction or an offset layout may require more than one zone. A survey should consider the building rather than apply a floor-count rule.

Will more access points always improve WiFi?

No. Overlapping radios on poorly chosen channels or excessive power can create interference and roaming problems. Each access point should have a defined role and be commissioned as part of one system.

Should access points be wired?

A wired backhaul is normally the predictable choice for permanent access points because it does not consume wireless airtime between nodes. Wireless mesh can still be useful where a suitable cable route is impractical.

Can an access point fix slow broadband?

It can improve the connection between the device and the home network, but it cannot increase the service arriving from the provider. Test the incoming connection separately.
