What must be checked before work involving terraces across southern enfield in Victorian & Edwardian Terraces?
We check the supply, earthing, bonding, consumer unit and the relevant existing circuits first. That shows whether the requested work can be added safely and keeps any separate defect visible before the quotation is agreed.
How can semis with lofts & extensions shape new power and lighting in 1930s–50s Semis (EN2)?
We agree how the rooms will be used, useful accessory positions and the least disruptive compliant routes. The design then coordinates loading, switching and certification around the real layout rather than assuming every circuit needs replacement.
What access and permissions affect flats & maisonettes in Post-War Estates & HMOs (EN3)?
We confirm who controls the installation, which rooms or shared areas must be reached and whether any managing-agent approval is needed. The written scope then records the access, testing, notification and handover that apply.
A 3-Bed Edwardian Terrace Off Bush Hill — Full Rewire and a Safer Home for the Family
A young family on the Bush Hill / Winchmore Hill side of Enfield called us in. Two small kids, a new future high-load equipment on order, and a beautiful Edwardian terrace whose wiring hadn’t been touched in years. They wanted the install brought up to a modern, safer standard — RCBOs on every circuit so any fault trips one circuit, not the whole house — with spare capacity left for the future high-load equipment once it arrived. We agreed a phased plan, gave them a fixed price, and got stuck in.
- Strip out everything old — start clean
- Sockets where they actually live, not where the original electrician put them in 1908
- Kitchen brought up to current spec with proper dedicated circuits
- Modern lighting throughout — spotlights in the kitchen, living room and master bedroom; cleaner ceilings (single pendant) in the kids’ rooms
- Extra spare ways on the board for future circuits
- Every circuit on its own RCBO so one fault doesn’t kill the whole house — the family-safety part of the brief
Full rewire of the property — every old cable out, no compromises, no “we’ll leave that bit for now.”
- New socket layout in all three bedrooms, designed around how each one’s actually used (bedside, dressing, work-from-home corner in the master)
- Kitchen rewired to current standard: dedicated cooker circuit, separate ring for kitchen sockets, USB outlets where they belong
- LED spotlights in the kitchen, living room, hallway and master bedroom; central pendant points in the two kids’ rooms
- Circuits properly split: kitchen ring, separate socket rings upstairs and downstairs, dedicated cooker, spare future high-load equipment-ready way, lighting separated per floor
- 16-way RCBO consumer unit — every circuit on its own RCBO, BS 7671 18th Edition Amendment 2 compliant
- Spare 32A way and cable run left ready — capacity in place for whatever the family adds next
- Earthing and main bonding all up to current regs
- Full Electrical Installation Certificate (EIC) and circuit schedule issued
The job came in around £8,500–£9,500 all in. The family now has an installation that does what they asked for — sockets where they need them, lighting that suits the rooms, spare capacity in place for whatever they add next, and the peace of mind that any fault on any circuit will trip just that one circuit rather than plunging the house into darkness with two young kids in it. If you’ve got an older Enfield property and you’re starting to think “we should probably get this looked at properly” — that’s usually the right instinct.

Swipe to explore all property types
Victorian & Edwardian Terraces
📍 Enfield Town EN1, Baker Street, Church Street, Chase Sided
What must be checked before work involving terraces across southern enfield in Victorian & Edwardian Terraces? Existing circuit condition, earthing and the consumer unit can change what is safe to add. The requested socket, light or repair must be planned from test evidence rather than the age or appearance of the property.
We check the supply, earthing, bonding, consumer unit and the relevant existing circuits first. That shows whether the requested work can be added safely and keeps any separate defect visible before the quotation is agreed. The written scope follows the checked layout around Enfield Town EN1.
1930s–50s Semis (EN2)
📍 Palmers Green N13, Bush Hill Park EN1, Winchmore Hill N21, Grange Park N21
How can semis with lofts & extensions shape new power and lighting in 1930s–50s Semis (EN2)? Room use, solid walls, finished surfaces and previous alterations affect useful positions and cable routes. A generic layout can create avoidable mess or leave new accessories in the wrong place.
We agree how the rooms will be used, useful accessory positions and the least disruptive compliant routes. The design then coordinates loading, switching and certification around the real layout rather than assuming every circuit needs replacement. The written scope follows the checked layout around Palmers Green N13.
Post-War Estates & HMOs (EN3)
📍 Enfield Lock EN3, Ponders End EN3, Southbury Road EN1, Enfield Town N9
What access and permissions affect flats & maisonettes in Post-War Estates & HMOs (EN3)? Flats, HMOs and managed buildings may involve shared supplies, landlord equipment or restricted areas. Ownership and safe isolation need to be clear before drilling, disconnection or alteration begins.
We confirm who controls the installation, which rooms or shared areas must be reached and whether any managing-agent approval is needed. The written scope then records the access, testing, notification and handover that apply. The written scope follows the checked layout around Enfield Lock EN3.
Garden Offices & Detached Rooms
📍 Throughout Enfield EN1, EN2 and EN3 — rear extensions, HMOs, outbuildings
Can garden offices & detached rooms include future electrical, data and security needs in Garden Offices & Detached Rooms? Extensions, lofts, offices and outbuildings often add electrical, data and security loads together. Without a coordinated plan, routes can be duplicated and the existing supply or board capacity can be overlooked.
Yes. We can coordinate likely power, lighting, data and CCTV positions while routes are accessible. Spare capacity and future provision still follow the verified supply and circuit design, avoiding equipment that the property does not need. The written scope follows the checked layout around Throughout Enfield EN1.
