Measure first; automate after the numbers make sense
Home Assistant can combine compatible electricity, gas, water, solar, battery and individual-device data in its Energy dashboard. Use power readings for what is happening now and energy readings for consumption over time. Before basing billing or automation on the result, verify the sensor source, units, direction, update behavior and tariff periods against the actual installation and supplier agreement.
